THERE are cats galore in the feline homes of Ely at the moment.
The Ely and District branch of Cats Protection has appealed for cat-lovers with a good home to come forward as their seven catteries in the area are full to bursting point.
Debbi-Jayne Challenger, from the charity's local branch, said: "We have never been as busy as we are now and we would love to hear from people who may be able to offer a nice home to one or maybe even two of our cats.
"We have some beautiful cats in at the moment and several pairs who must remain together - for example two white kittens, one of which is deaf and will need a special, indoor home."
She said the cat foster homes where the homeless kitties are waiting in limbo could not take many more animals and said the charity was expecting to re-home more than the 260 it dealt with last year.
